Welcome to Walston House, Biggar - Visitor Reviews
- Location Map
Walston House was built in 1828 as the new manse for the parish of Walston. Now a listed private house and registered smallholding, it is designed in the Georgian style and most original features have been retained. The historic church is no longer used for worship and dates from 1789. It is situated in front of the house providing a beautiful setting to the tranquil views across the Medwin Valley. Guests often enjoy a stroll round the church and its interesting graveyard. Prices from: £30 per person per night
Our bedrooms are very comfortable and tastefully furnished. We only use pure cotton bed linen with feather and down pillows. Each room has either private or adjacent bathroom with state of the art facilities including bath and shower. All have tea and coffee making facilities with china crockery, TV, radio and hairdryer. Our rooms are either double or family (double plus single bed) and cots are available on request.

The sitting room is warm and comfortable with a continually burning stove and uninterrupted views across the valley and to the walled garden. Our delicious breakfasts are cooked in the country kitchen on the Aga and served either in the private dining areas or, on fine days, in the courtyard or in the walled garden. We serve a variety of Scottish and continental breads for toasting, croissants, cereals and
muesli.
We have a charming walled garden and courtyard, along with ample parking.
We are very happy to accommodate guests' own horses in our newly installed looseboxes and electrically fenced paddocks.
