Geraldine was very accommodating when we said we had to arrive late & leave early. We were made very welcome and geraldine was able to tell us about the local eateries for evening meals locally and even gave us a useful discount voucher. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and plenty of it. We were glad to be able to stay there. Thank you.

Location

We found the location very handy - close to Edinburgh for a wedding and easy enough to leave early for Giggleswick, North Yorkshire, where I help run a Music Summer School, which we got to very easily. It was a beautiful part of the country, worth visiting just for that.

The Walston House is situated in the rural farming area 30 miles outside of Edinburgh. The location is convenient to Billings shopping and restuarants. Our hosts meet our request for a king size bed which was very, very comfortable, as were the pillows. However, attention to the ceiling is necessary and the room was dusty. Breakfast included wonderfully cooked bacon, homemade bread, and organic eggs. It would have been helpful to know upfront when booking the B&B that the room would be on the third floor. I think this information is important for travelers to have prior to booking a B&B location.

Location

Billings is a lovely town for finding china, and assorted art. We found the salmon dishes at Elphinstone Hotel Restuarant to be excellent. A must try is the bourbon ice cream! Billings is relatively convenient to Edinburgh, less than 45 minutes from the airport.
