Visitor Reviews of Tir Na N og Guest House - Overall Rating 4.1

Mags and Davy, the owners of Tir Na N og guesthouse, gave me a very warm welcome and were incredibly helpful throughout my stay. They were knowledgeable and personable. The cooked breakfast, which was of a good standard, was accompanied by entertaining chat and company. I really can't fault my hosts.
The room was clean and warm, but lacking in personality.
In terms of location, the guesthouse is just a step away from the station and is on the main drag in Balloch. This makes it incredibly convenient for anyone, like me, who is travelling without a car. However, I did notice that there were parking spaces so everyone is catered to!
Location
The guesthouse is a very short walk away from the banks of Loch Lomond and within easy reach of popular destinations such as Cameron House and the various renowned golf courses. If shopping is your thing then the Lochside shopping complex is quite a nice little distraction. I would definitely come back to Balloch and use it as a base for long walks and climbs.

We've been in Balloch for a couple of days, sleeping in different places but this place was better than the most popular hotel in there. We've been travelling a lot and really had a chance to compare; I have never had a better stay anywhere else. The most beautiful, cleanest, brightest place I've seen, the nicest host and best choice of foods for breakfast. The owner asked us all the time whether we needed anything else, he was flexible about everything and very very helpful. We had a fantastic big double room with a bathroom, I was even mentioning to husband how the bedlinen smelled fresh, never had that standard anywhere else, it was a great romantic place to go as a couple. I hope we will have a chance to come back. Also want to mention - we've never met such warm local people, we've got a lift from a random driver and everybody was asking us whether we needed any help with maps, directions or ideas on what to do.
Location
This B&B is the third or fourth house by the train station, 200 metres from the shores of the Loch and the Tourist Info. There are plenty things to do - we've done boat trip, barbecue on the beach, walks along the shore. There is a castle with gardens, restaurant and local shops. You can take a short train ride and visit a whisky distillery or Glasgow. The views to the Loch from surrounding hills are unforgetable.

Good value for money. Friendly hosts, very good food, clean rooms and a perfect location to explore the Loch Lomond area.
Location
Loch Lomond is beautiful. We climbed Conic Hill in Balmaha for a nice view of the string of little islands on the Loch. Stirling Castle is worth a visit

Very good value for money, very nice hosts, great location, comfortable bed and very clean.
Location
The boat cruise just 2 minutes walk from the BB is a must and a short drive or 20 minute walk to hire bikes, canoes, visitor centre etc. Lovely local bars and resturants and a very accessable spot for touring around. Check out Cameron House and Duck Bay for a five star afternoon.
