Jon and Margaret were very nice and accomodating. They made us feel right at home always helping us with whatever we needed. They let me store milk for my daughter in their fridge and brought up cookies and raisins for my daughter as she wasnt eating very much. They made extra items for our breakfast because they knew we liked them. They went on the internet to find things for us. The house was very nice and cozy. The bedroom was nice with a separate room. I found the shower to be small. Overall I highly recommend the Thistle Dhu for its charm and coziness and the the host/ess were awesome! I would definitey stay there again!

We always find that a major factor in enjoying our accommodation is the welcome and hospitality of the hosts and Margaret and John make you feel very welcome in their home. Our room was spacious and cosy with an ensuite bathroom. The food was delicious with lots of variety and for our evening meal the house was in a great location, with lots of nearby restaurants.
Margaret and John were also more than helpful with transport advice to get into Edinburgh easily.

We visited Edinburgh to attend the Tattoo which was amazing and we were very lucky with dry weather on the night. Margaret also suggested we visit the Royal Yacht Britannia which is berthed in Leith and gave us a voucher for 10% discount which was much appreciated.

very pleasant room, super breakfasts & host who go that extra mile to be helpful & friendly.
Location
simple to access attactions in Edinburg from the location. Bus stop is aprox 50 metres from the front door.
