The house has a most delightiful architecture and the lounge, dining room and bedroom are decorated with taste and have a cosy atmosphere. The breakfast is just delicious and offers a variety of choices. But what makes the Old Ministers House so special is its proprietor, Kate Tod, the perfect hostess. She received us with the best of scotch hospitality making our stay at her guest house unforgetable.
Location
We went to Aviemore so our daughter could have snowboarding lessons at the Cairn Gorm Ski School. We had a perfect week , full of snow. We also visited the Highland Wildlife Park, a 20 minutes drive from the centre of Aviemore, and a special treat for kids. The Old Ministers House is within a 15 minutes walk from the village centre, and next door to the Rothiemurchus Visitor Centre. There are many walk paths and biking tracks starting just in front of the guest house. Buses going to the Cairn Gorm have a bus stop at the visitor centre. The location was perfect, near the centre but in a quiet, relaxing area of Aviemore.

Deserves every one of its "stars". Lovely room which was immmaculately clean, great ambience, excellent breakfast and Kate was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. All this and free sherry too, what more could anyone want?
Location
Within walking distance of Aviemore (and Loch an Eilann if you are feeling fit) and on the road to Cairngorm. The facilities of Rothiemurchus are literally next door so the house is ideally placed for a holiday visit and yet feels very quiet and rural, with the river running right behind it.

What a marvelous find! Kate was warm and welcoming and had all the information about the area we could have wished for. The Old Ministers House is very stylish and clean with lots of little extra touches that are not a necessity but very welcome. Breakfast was taken in a beautiful room and the menue offered a wide choice of local produce, all quite delicous.
Location
As this was a snow sports break we didnt visit anywhere else. The snow conditions were great but the flip side to this was that it was VERY cold and the visibility very poor. Hey this is Scotland and we had a great time. We visited a number of restaurants an Indian which was OK and a great little place called Ski-ing Do fabulous steaks. However the Italian restaurant was over busy and the staff were less than friendly, in fact we walked out without eating.
