Excellent. There would be 5 stars if wi-fi had been available.

I could tell you about the room, food etc but, having stayed in different accommodation each night of the West Highland Way which were all - bar one - excellent or outstanding, what stands out about the Hawthorns was the friendly, genuine interest shown in me and the walk and the local advice offered. There was also a very nice lounge and fruit and yoghurt available for breakfast!
Location
As a walker passing through, what was important was a good venue for an evening meal - which there was - the Pottery place attached to the pub - which was just next door, as well as somewhere to stock up on food for the following day - Spar or Post Office. It felt a very safe village.

The room was superb and well presented and the proprietors were extremely friendly making us both feel very welcome . The breakfasts were first class and very filling . We will most certainly visit again .
Location
There was plenty to do in the area , and the tourist areas were well within the reaches of the Hawthorns . I would recommend a visit to Loch Lomond Shores and the picturesque village of Luss . Drymen itself , was a lovely place with good shops for visitors to the town . The local restaruants and pubs provide superb dining and adequate choices for all .

Very friendly welcome. Very comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast. Children no problem. Helpful. However it would be a good idea to provide soap in the bathrooms.
Location
Drymen is the gateway to the Highlands and an excellent stopping place.
