The breakfast was excellent and the dining room in which it was served was also excellent. However, my ROOM was a miniscule room in the basement, having to cart luggage downstairs, looking out at garbage cans, inability to open window for fresh air, etc. I changed the initial room I was given but was given another room virtually the same. Since I had booked my accomodation in advance I could not change.

the location was quite satisfactory in terms of access to the city itself.

The food was delicious and the accommodation first class

really enjoyed the visit to the museum and art gallery which was suggested by the receptionist when we asked for somewhere to go to fill in time before our train. It was only a very short walk away. We would not have known it was there.

The room was comfortable and clean. Housekeeping was excellent. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was good. Pre-theatre menu was excellent. All in all very good value for money.

Location

We chose the Argyll because it was within walking distance of the SECC, as we were going to the Good Food Show. This was our first visit to Glasgow and had the Friday to do some sight seeing. We were very impressed and there is a lot we didn't see. We want to return and do some more sight seeing. We will definately stay at the Argyll Guest House again as it is in an ideal posistion to do that.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Arriving in the early morning hours from Canada, they even let us check into our room many hours early, with no extra charge. We would stay there again.

The shower didn't work very well in our double room. The single room, also in the guest house was too little, even claustrofobic I would say. However the rooms were clean and breakfast was very good.
