I thought the Albion Hotel was outstanding in terms of cleanliness, overall style, value, facilities, etc.

Location

The hotel is just a minute's walk to the subway station in a nice area. The Glasgow subway is well maintained and can take you anywhere in the city in just a matter of minutes. The hotel is secure in that it is always locked, and I was provided a key to the door so that I could could come and go as I pleased. The gentleman at reception was quite pleasant and accommodating. I would stay at the Albion Hotel again were I to visit Glasgow again. It was one of the best places I stayed when I was in Scotland, and I stayed in several hotels while I was there.

We lodged at The Albion Hotel on two separate occasions. The rooms were identical except for the size, the second being much smaller and a bit cheaper. Rooms were new, modern, with refrigerator, hair dryer. The second room, however, had no outside window, but one which opened onto the pantry! The breakfast was good, and there was a small bar which was nice. The receptionist provided good directions and suggestions for a grocery store, and he enabled us to have early breakfast one morning when we needed to catch a bus. Internet connections were available and appreciated.

Location

The location was within easy walking distance to the bus and public transportation so that we could access all historic attractions.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful personell who create a homely and secure atmosphere. The single room on the top floor is small but the decor and style turn it into a room you like to return to after a touristy day out and it has all the necessary assets (safe, clean bathroom, fridge, TV, coffee/tea-making facilities, plus daily supplied cookies and free wi-fi access). Breakfast is delicious and plenty. Good value for money.

Location

The hotel is situated in the heart of the West End, although luckily in a quiet cul-de-sac, and thus is ideal for an enjoyable stay in Glasgow. The subway and several buses are right outside taking you to the centre and further. The Botanic Gardens, Glasgow Uni (Hunterian Art Gallery, Cloisters) and Kelvingrove Art Gallery are within easy walking distance, as well as are loads of the best pubs and shops in town. I would rate the location as superb.

We were very happy with the accommodation but it was a little difficult getting access to it.

Location

Fortunately we had a GPS so made it a little easier. Obviously the street used to come out on the main road but now it has been blocked off. We did not have much time in Glasgow as we had to move on quite early.

Nice, clean, quiet room with all facilities. Good range of options for breakfast, the food was good (a bit slow in coming on one day). Very good value for money.

Location

Conveniently close to underground station and university campus.

We had room 11 and were woken in the early mornings by intense breakfast cooking smell. Personnel friendly and helpful. Breakfast tasty. A variety of teas could be offered. A bit more tourist information with a simple map of Glasgow should lie out to be taken. Rooms were clean as expected and serviced well.

Location

Glasgow is an interesing city. People very friendly and made us feel welcome.
