We wanted a hotel that was within easy walking distance to Edinburgh city centre, was comfortable and clean. We chose the Terrace Hotel for its proximity to the city centre. Although it was about a 15 minute walk to the Royal Mile, it was quite pleasant. The room was at the back of the hotel overlooking the park and was lovely. Although the room was a family room, the bathroom was tiny which was a bit disappointing, and the shower had very little power. The worse thing, in my opinion, was the bed which was quite hard and made for two nights of not comfortable sleep. Breakfast was very varied, tasty and filling and served by a really pleasant lady.
Location
We visited Mary Kings Close, Camera Obscura and the Botanical Gardens. All were excellent in their own way, although Camera Obscura definitely was the best. Mary Kings Close visit was interesting, but a little expensive and the Botanical Gardens well worth visiting (especially as they're free!) We chose to eat both nights on the Royal Mile, first at Deacon Brodie, but can't remember the name of the place the second night. The first night was Saturday and was chaotic - waited around 15-20 minutes for a table, then limited wine selection (for some strange reason they had 'run out' of pinot grigio and merlot and don't have cabernet sauvignon!). The pint of ale my partner had was like dishwater, and to top it off, we waited an hour for our food after we had ordered. Very disappointing and definitely worth looking for something prior to visiting and pre-booking. Sunday was much quieter and we found something fairly easily. Both meals were lovely.

buon rapporto qualità prezzo, stanza molto spaziosa e pulita, 10 minuti a piedi dal centro, sabato e domenica parcheggio libero di fronte l'hotel, bene la colazione e il personale

The hospitality was exceptional. Mr. Mann was friendly and witty. The room was huge and the salon had a piano. It is very close to royal mile and a quiet spot to stay.

Situated close by the main tourist attractions in Edinburgh. Just go there!!!

Room was large and clean. Very good breakfast. Computer with internet access available for guest use an excellent idea.
