Having scoured the internet for accommodations in Edinburgh, I think that Tantallon house was a fantastic value. Very reasonable for a gorgeous room and a superb breakfast. Even better where our hosts, Mike and Ann. They were a joy to sit and chat with and part of why we hope to return to Scotland in the near future.
Location
Tantallon house is located in very nice neighborhood. Quiet but convenient. While we didn't have time to explore the city as we would have liked, we did find that we were within easy walking distance of the Royal Mile and Princes Street. We managed to see Edinburgh castle, take the distillery association tour, browse Princes street, enjoy the Christmas market, and round the night out with a ghostly tour of the vaults.

We were made very welcome and the bedroom was very comfortable and well appointed. The water was very hot and we had excellent breakfasts.
Location
We were there for a family christening. We know Edinburgh well as we have family there. Our son and daughter in law live near Tantallon Place so we chose it for handiness.

The room was well equipped with good drink making facilities; and, local maps and guide books.
Location
Edinburgh is the best place in the world for historical tourist attractions! Tantallon B&B is best placed to see everything.

We found really nice hosts and a lovely surrounding. Mike and Ann were very friendly and gave us good informations that helped us to find the right Highland-tour due to our wishes. There house was warm, friendly and nice decorated. Walking distance to Old Town (ca. 25 min.). Their Scottish breakfast was outstanding and every morning a new revelation. Thanks for all! Next time we would like to stand there again.

We visited Edinburgh for 3 days and nights. Very good and cheap bus transfer airport - Waverly Station. Good weather and a very nice old city we got to know - best on foot and very homely at night. Excellent was a Westhighland-Tour by Rabbies-Tours with "lessons" of the Scottish history in such a lively atmosphere. Great rounding of our first impression of Scotland!

As a treat for my husbands fiftieth birthday,we went to the Balmoral Hotel and had the Chefs tasting menu in No 1 restaurant. Outstanding! Our hosts in the Tantallon very kindly took us there in their car. Couldn't have been more helpful.
