Room is very spacious, clean, nicely decorated and has a pretty outlook to the front garden with cherry blossoms. It is very quiet and peaceful and a good night is sleep is guaranteed as the double bed is specially comfortable and big! Mike and Ann are very kind and helpful hosts and being collected from Waverley Station is an added bonus to the service. Breakfasts are most delicious with first class coffee, fresh fruit salad, home baked bread and home made jam and marmalade.

Location

17 Tantallon is in a very convenient location, within walking distance to the city, across the Meadows which is lovely in the spring. There are a few good restaurants again within walking distance.

Very friendly and welcoming. Good breakfast and lovely spacious room. Able to leave car and take short walk to centre - 15 mins walk. Would use again and recommend.

Location

Fabulous location with lots of attractions to suit different tastes. Good places to eat, wonderful architecture and ghost walk worth a visit.

The room was lovingly arranged, the breakfast was rich and very delicious, the homeowner were extremely kind and that's all at a good price-performance-ratio.

Location

We visited a lot of attractions but we also enjoyed simply walking around the city. Especially to note is Mary King's Close, that was quite interesting and exciting. One negative point was the exaggeratedly high admission for the castle.

Anne and Mike Walsh are two of the nicest people one could hope to meet. They served an excellent breakfast of just the right proportion, cooked to perfection and set at an elegantly laid table. The home made preserves and bread are so good you will not wish to rush your enjoyment of them and if you are as lucky as we were you could well be entertained with live piano played by Mike who plays very well. My wife and I were charmed to bits and so comfortable we will return to Tantallon every chance we get from now on.

Location

Tantallon is well situated for accessing central areas of Edinburgh being close to bus routes or if you prefer some of the major attractions are easily within comfortable walking distance. One little gem we found close by was the Cafe Artista on Marchmont Road. Go there if you enjoy good honest Italian food served with great charm and genuine warmth but at reasonable prices without unnecessary frills .

Mike and Ann were very friendly and helpful hosts with always time for a short chat or tips. The house was very tidy and comfortable. The rooom was nice and cosy, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom new and very clean. The breakfast was great!!! Every morning Mike sat in the kitchen and made fresh fruit salad or cut melon for the guests. The scottish breakfast was delicious and so many that we had no hunger for the next eight hours. Our stay at the Tantallon B&B was so beautiful and we are sure weŽll come back!!!

Location

Situated in a quiet residential quarter only a short 15min walk from the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle etc. 5 min to the next bus stop ( line no. 41 )

We had a very pleasant and comfortable stay in a well decorated room with a 4m ceiling. Mike and Ann were like "PARENTS" to us and made us feel like being home. Breakfasts were rich and left no wish unfulfilled. We wouldn't hesitate a second to come back...

Location

A day ticket for the bus costs 3 pounds but is not really needed since a walk to the city centre lasts only 15-20mins. We would recommend the following restaurants: "Fischer's in the city" at Thistle Street; "Mussel Inn" at Rose Street (both serve excellent fish/mussel dishes at reasonable prices.
