We had an amazing stay with Anne and Mike which exceeded our expectations completely! My friend had her birthday the day after our arrival - they organized a cake which was baked by their own daughter who has an organic bakery/cake shop in Edinburgh which we also visited. It is such a warm feeling the moment you enter Tantallon - our room had views over the garden and one could see Arthur's seat in the distance. The location is superb, always walking distance from many attractions in town. Mike and Anne are very helpful hosts and I would recommend a stay there any time! Many many thanks.

The accommodation is perfectly situated for the calmness of an urban setting, with the convenience of all attractions that Edinburgh has to offer within walking distance. The room we were in had a distant view of "Arthur's seat". The room was set in a very comfortable home, and was a nice size, had an ensuite shower room and toilet and was well stocked with tea's, coffee and literature regarding the sites to visit. Mike and Ann are delightful host/hostess, with a knowledge base that must be dipped into for places to eat, sites to see, and hot tips for shops etc. The breakfast on both days was personally delivered to the table, ample to eat, and combined locally sourced products (family jams). We cannot commend enough the quality of the hospitality and will definitely want to stay here again.

Location

Edinburgh Zoo, Arthurs seat, Holyrood Park and Palace. Scottish National portrait gallery. The grass market. Edinburgh castle. Restaurants - Howie's.
