I stayed in Tankard Guest House for 6 days, it is the lowest price i can get in the area(so what dou you expect for this price?). If you are just find a place to stay, it is fine for you. It's a walkable distance to the city center, about 20 minutes from Prince Street. The scottish style breakfast(beans, eggs, saussage and becan) is not of my appetite. But the hostibility is very good there.

beds were uncomfortable, dining area depressing. The nicest thing about the B&B was David. He is a great host and very pleasant and helpful, made good sugggestions about busses etc.

For the money that we paid, I was expecting a much better standard of room and cleanliness! The bathroom was acceptable but the room was very dated and shabby. It had obviously not been cleaned as a sock was found on the floor! Breakfast was disappointing - we have had much better in every B&B visited in the UK. Came back from breakfast to find two men stripping our beds - with our luggage and personal items still on the beds! They returned twice whilst we still getting ready to vacate - so in the end, we just left!Parking was convenient and affordable.

Excellent location for walking into Edinburgh city centre. Walked to Holyrood Palace and then up to Arthur's seat - excellent view and well worth it!

Breakfast was not very good, TV was difficult to work & coffee maker had to be put on the floor to reach the plug! However - the price was very good!
