Our stay at Stonefield was fantastic! Doug and Rosemary are charming, chatty and accommodating. Our room (#1) was GREAT! Comfortable king-sized bed, views of the moutains in two directions, a well-stocked library, good food. I wish we had booked longer, and I do understand that Doug and Rosemary cannot be held responsible for the weather. We found live music in the village, and the best meal of our 2 week stay in Scotland. We would highly recommend Stonefield to anyone travelling to Skye. We hope to return some day for a longer stay.

Location

If you're visiting Skye, you're going to be driving. Might as well drive from Stonefield as anywhere!

The hospitality was excellent and our host Rosemerry was outstanding. She went out of way to make us feel at home. We had three choice of breakfast with lot of local speciality. Rooms were clean with all facilities in order. The B & B is at walking distance from town centre and bus station.

The reason for the excellent rate given was due to the quality of the room, good value for money and amazing hospitality. Lovely place and would certainly go back and would recommend to anyone visiting Skye.

We went round the whole of the island and was amazed by the scenery. Clean air but a bit wet. Wouldn't put me off coming back, visit the museum about how people used to live on the island, loved the shops in Portree and the various kinds of food on offer. I just discovered you could get haggis sauce, would come back for that alone.

The rooms where big and confortable, especially king size beds. Breakfast very good and the owners were very helpfull and gave us the vest advises to visit wonderfull skye island.

The room and the food were both superb and the guest house owners were extremely pleasant and helpful.

Location

Our entire stay of 3 nights was enjoyable. The guest house was a 10 minute walk to the centre of Portree and was situated in a quiet part of the town. The guest house owners were full of information and recommendations for places to eat and places of interest to visit.

Skye was great with fantastic scenery but the highlight for our visit was the Skye Highland Games.

This was the most comfortable of the 7 B&Bs we stayed in. The Bruces could not have been more hospitable. Bob Hansen
