The owners of the hotel were very welcoming and the service was excellent. We would stay again and have already passed details on to friends and family.

Location

Scott's Restaraunt at the marina was very good.

We had such a good nights sleep because it was a huge superking bed with a good mattress and expensive cotton bedding. I loved the furniture and the tv was big. Its a minutes walk from the seafront and you can see the sea from the bedroom window. The people who owned it were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really really good. I often find with cooked breakfasts the beans are tepid..not here...piping hot. My partner is walking all around the edge of the Uk ..he is a year into it so we have stayed at a lot of b&bs when I go up to see him and this is in my top 5. The curtains were thick and the room was really warm and cosy. Shower good too. Nice designer type towels. I think the most important thing was that it felt easy and comfortable and we felt very at home very quickly. Theres also a big tv in the breakfast room which was great so we could listen to the news and say hello with the other guests but didnt feel we had to have a long conversation with them while eating. Sometimes b&B s are a bit like being in a restaurant with no music whereas this was all easier. If I was really being really picky I would change the kettle in the room. I should have just unplugged the travel kettle to make tea but didn't think and found myself pouring hot water very close to the plugs. It was fine but a longer lead would have been perfect.

Location

Largs is a beautiful spot and we enjoyed a walk on the beach and the locals were friendly.

This Guest House was in an ideal location being close to the town centre, Morrissons and the railway station. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. My room was small but clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice of cereal, lovely cooked food and delicious fresh coffee. My only reservation was that as it was summer and warm and humid, I kept the window open all night and then there was traffic noise.

It was clean comfortable, friendly and welcomming, despite our very late arrival of 12.30am! The Scottish Breakfast was delicious and set you up for the day!

Location

The local museum needs more space! It would be great if the lacal council would help to fund an up todate facility to display ALL THE exhibits! I have comr from Austaralia to search my family history and the vital informatiom was instorage! Of course I was disapointed. I also visited Stornaway in the Isle of Lewis. The visitor information Centre was very u helpful. We found out from another center in Harris that we could have gone to Barra on a bus, that day if we had only been given this information the previous day in Stornaway!
