The apartment is in an ideal location overlooking the Royal Mile; very close to Waverley Station. The accomodations were excellent. We especially enjoyed the personal attention of our host, the good food and tasteful decorating.

The location was superb, so was Norries hospitality, friendliness, and breakfasts. It was like living in a home for a few days. Thank you Norrie! Grandma and grandson from Finland

The stay at Royal MIle B and B far exceeded our expectations. Norrie is a most gracious host, with an eye to detail in every aspect. His homemade breakfasts were excellent. His place is spotless and homey. There were four of us and we would all reccommend the Royal MIle B and B ... again and again !!!
Location
The place is in an excellent location ... close to many attractions ... and transportation.

The Royal Mile Bed & Breakfast, as the name suggests, is on the Royal Mile...excellently located for all activities in Old Town, as well as a very short walk to New Town.
Our room was clean & comfortable. Norrie is a excellent host, he even put the two twin beds together for us. He was very accomdating to our breakfast schedule, and preferences, and made sure we had all the information we needed to make our day goes as well as possible.
Don't be afraid to have haggis for breakfast. It was much better than I had originally expected.

Norrie was an excellent host (friendly, very helpful with tipps for activities & places to visit, cooking breakfast every morning and preparing lunch bags for the days when we would leave earlier than 8 am...)
very clean rooms/appartment, perfectly located at a fair price
fresh towels on request
fresh bed sheets after half of our stay
rooms could be locked (with key)
tv, cupboard & chest of drawers with enough space for clothes & other stuff for 2 people, heating, electric kettle with choice of tea, coffee and hot chocolate with cookies, bedside table with lamp & hairdryer
bathroom with shower, shampoo & shower gel as well as hand cream provided
Location
the b&b is located in jacksons close, you easily get there from waverley station (takes about 5 minutes to walk. it is perfectly situated in the old town. you reach edinburgh castle in a couple of minutes as well as the grassmarket or the new town. carlton hill with it's magnificent view is within walking distance (approx. 15 minutes if you walk). busses to loch ness leave in front of the appartment. different tours (historic or ghost) are offered and start just across the street. there's a free ghost tour led by burke himself, that starts just around the corner of the b&b in front of the scotsman pub. if you want it to be really spooky, wait for the one that begins when it's getting dark. ;-)
what else...? there is a bureau de change, in case you need to change some money, just at the top of jacksons close when you get onto the royal mile. there's a couple of atm's within walking distance. you also are at walking distance from different nice pubs and live music bars (deacon brodie, whistle binkies, the scotsman...) and if you like to shop, cockburn street is really great. if you have enough time we recommend you go to north berwick. it has a stunning beach and nice shops and cafés. but make sure you get there before 5 pm otherwise all shops and restaurants will already be closed. you get there by bus. if you are into historic buildings, you should take the bus to roslyn and visit the chapel... we really enjoyed our stay in the royal mile b&b and in the beautiful edinburgh, so it is difficult to mention just a couple of places worth visiting.

Super nice hospitality. Wonderful room with windows at the Royal Mile. Super generous breakfast. Everything very clean. Not outstanding because of quite small room; but all the other advantages have long overpast it.
Location
The B&B is super central. Great atmosphere at the Royal Mile.
