We had a very good room with a sitting room as well - an unexpected luxury. We enjoyed the view down the valley and of the lovely garden. There was an oil heater in the room which kept it a comfortable temperature during a rather damp and chilly week. Lin Muirhead was very friendly and helpful and even made us sandwiches on several occasions without charging extra for them. She also met us at the station on our arrival.
There were many thoughtful touches like umbrellas available at the front door!
The breakfasts too were very good.
We highly recommend it and although it was nice for us to be the only guests for much of the time, we hope that there is a 'full house' for most of the year.

We were there during the last week in October and the Autumn colours in the glens were stupendous - far better than in Wales where we spent the same week last year. Lin lent us maps and booklets and advised about walks and where to eat. We enjoyed the tour of Blair Castle and spent a couple of hours listening to the piping competition on the Saturday morning - something we would not have experienced in England! We saw red squirrels and between 35-40 stags on the brow of a hill one day staring down at us - an unforgettable sight. We were without a car but found there was plenty to do within reach and to which we could walk to.
