The cottage was very nicely located, was in prime condition. Very good cooked breakfast each morning and nice drams of whisky in the evening ;).

Location

The eight Islay distilleries are all worth a visit. Also, the Mull of Oa is a very nice place for a walk.

very comfortable and clean. only downsides were bedroom 3 with small bunk beds was very small and the bed in the main bedroom was uncomfortable - we ended up placing a duvet under the sheets to get a decent nights sleep. otherwise we loved it and are looking forward to returning to Islay.

Location

Finlaggan - The Oa, the distilleries, in fact there was so much we need to go back again to pick up everything we have missed. The centalina festival was very good and everyone is so friendly.

Donald and Rosemary, the owners, were superb and so welcoming. Scones on arrival, helpful hints, nice warm aga. The decor is a little 'splodgy' in places.

Location

All the distilleries, especially the one at the end of the road which had a fabulous jetty. The weavers on the way to Bridgend [lovely cheap cashmere and wool scarves]. Scottish cycling cafe next to Bruichladdich distillery. Lovely clothes shop [cum books] at Bowmore. Persabus has a pottery shop. Pub at Portnahaven [where we also saw seals in the bay]. The Round church at Bowmore. Bowmore generally.

Room was good and of a high standard but at the price I paid would have expected the room to be serviced so feel that it was not value for money. Islay have a captive market and feel they are very much taking the tourist for 'a ride'as our group felt things over stated and very expensive. I have based my comments on 40 years working in the hospitality trade. Arrived at Port Ellen at 3.50 p.m on the Friday to find the tourist information closed till 10 a.m the next day! not a good start to our few days

Location

The Ardbeg Cafe and distillery well worth a visit
