Very convenient location, immaculately kept house, convenient and well-stocked bedroom and bathroom, excellent breakfast

Location

A very good base for exploring the capital (Aros Centre is good, as is the local scenery) and other attractions such as Dunvegan Castle

Very clean home with comfortable beds and modern bathrooms. We were made to feel at home. A short walk downhill to the village and harbor. Breakfast was plentiful and a great start to the day.

The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and the breakfast on offer, (when available!!), is acceptable. The location is very good - 5 minutes walk from the town centre but in a quiet area. However, the bathrooms are personal but not en-suite. One must walk across the corridor where other guests and the owncers family also reside. The price does not reflect this inconvenience. Our room would not lock and no effort was made by the host to fix this during our 3 night stay. We were assured that our possesions were safe but this is not good enough for a professional establishment. Our second morning only 1 of party of 4 requested a full english breakfast but we advised our host the day before so as not to inconvenience her. The following morning however we were shocked to discover that she assumed we wanted exactly the same without enquiring. Our final morning we all wanted a full breakfast but only 1 of our party of 4 received it. No effort was made on her part to offer an alternative. She said that she had no bacon or sausages left. Surely we could have had scrambled eggs instead! This was disgraceful for an establishment which advertises itself as a Bed and Breakfast afterall. I would call it 'Bad and No Breakfast'. Also as we occupied all the rooms available there was no flexibility on the time of the breakfast. It was 8.00 am or not at all.

Location

The Isle of Skye is a must for anyone who loves nature and unspoilt country. Be warned however that when it rains there are few indoor choises to escape the weather.

Each room has a private bathroom, which was nice though the basket full of random toiletries (some from other hotels and half used) did not add to the appeal. We could not leave items in the bathroom securely because there were no locks on the outside of the doors. The breakfast was poor quality, there was only a wee tiny shotglass of orange juice with no option of having more, and the sausage was surely from a value range - I stuck to cereals after my first morning there. I would generally sum up the B&B style as 'thrifty'

Location

Skye is amazing! Even though Portree is a wee town there are some lovely shops around, such as Skye Batiks, and great food! The views are all around outstanding from north to south of Skye. Must see places are Dunvegan Castle, the ruins of Duntulm Castle, and the Faerie Glen (if you can find it :-)

accommodation comfortable and breakfast good.

Location

Location in easy reach of town centre. We were able to cover most of the north of the Island by car and enjoyed the magnificent scenery. The Island is excellent for walking
