The room was clean and fresh, with no necessary airs and grace. Just really homely and relax. Excellent value for money. Nadine was really welcoming and ensured we had all we needed. Some of the previous reviews had been negative, they were so untrue and I’m glad I ignored them. We will stay again. .

Everything was good apart from the lack of cleaning. The was a lot of dust in the room. I suffer from Asthma and the dust caused it to get worse.

Good basic accommodation. Owner very helpful and accomodating. Good bus service

Found the stewards and visitor centre very helpful at Edinburgh Castle. We got a ticket quicker and a coutesy car up to the top of the castle otherwise my mother would not have been able to manage.

the area where the B&B is situated not very pleasant, but lots of buses going towards the city centre.

The only reason I rate this place as acceptable instead of unacceptable was that the breakfast was good. The room was very basic with no pictures or decoration, no curtains and the central light fitting was broken. There was no towel rail, no toilet roll holder and no shelves in the shower room. At the entrance, a plant pot was full of cigarette ends. The house was very run down and a poor imitation of the publicity photos.
Location
The location of the Minto Guest House was very good. It had an excellent bus service to the centre of town. The main attraction has to have been The Military Tattoo. A superb meal at The Witchery Restaurant close to the castle must also be mentioned.
