The room and eating accomodations were very clean and quiet. Fair price. Good food and nice people.

Location

Only a 20 minute walk to Waverley, and very easy to find. Close to everything we wanted to see.

Excellent room with extra touches - tissues, fan, hair drier, drinks, sweets etc. Clean and nicely decorated. Hospitality good - warm and friendly. Would certainly book again if visiting Edinburgh. Good value for money - room high standard and good choices for a well-cooked breakfast.

Location

A short walk from Edinburgh city centre - just down the road from the theatre, the cinema, restaurants, John Lewis department store and Princess Street with all the tourist attractions, so very conveniently located.

The room was comfortable and beautifully appointed. The water was hot and the shower wasn't too small (like the other places we stayed). The hostess and her husband were wonderfully nice and helpful. It is not a 10 minute walk from the train station; more like 20 to 25 minutes, especially when you don't know where you are going.

There were brochures and information very handy, some with discounts.

The quality of accomodation was superb, from our warm welcome greeting and flawless rooms to excellent scottish fry up breakfasts with the option of haggis as a nice touch. Very clean facilities. Definitely recommended, and possibly a return from ourselves on our next visit.

Everything about my stay at McDonald house was nice. The hosts are very welcoming, and the breakfast was great. Near enough to St. James Centre that the walk is fine to centre city.

Location

Everything about McDonald House seems to be in great shape - nice bathrooms, ect. I got to look in at all the rooms, as I was visiting in late January when not so many tourists are around.

The accomodation was very clean en nice. We were feeling at home immediately. The location was very near to the centre of the city, so we walked a lot. The hospitality was great. Norrie and Marion are very kind people and it seemed as if we knew each other for a long time. When we return to Edinburgh, we certainly shall stay in the McDonald Guest House !

Location

The city of Edinburgh is very busy, but also very beautiful. We went to see the historic buildings. Especially the castle and The Royal Mile impressed us very much. We visited several shops and pubs and it was very comfortable to feel that the Scottish people are very kind.
