Our second stay at Linden House, just a short walk to town. Very welcoming and a great breakfast.
Location
A visit to the castle is a must, in our view much better than Edinborough castle.

We enjoyed our stay at The Linden Guest House - The rooms were clean and well presented, the ensuite double was roomy with large windows (but not much of a view). Breakfasts were plentiful if choosing the full-English option.
It is possible to hear other guests upstairs, but mostly this was a non- issue.
For the price- I would say that the guest house is adequate for what it is offering... decent location, and pleasant rooms with well attended staff. Overall, the price for the visit for a nice stay here- is about what you would be paying a basic double at an American 5 star hotel for a night and your stay at Linden would not rival it- Linden was not our final destination and for a basic weeks stay around Scotland, we easily spent nearly $2,000 all said and done--killed by the exchange rate...
Location
The guest house is located about a 5 minute walk from Thistle market and the town center. About 15-20 minutes to Stirling Castle on foot, and about 45-50 minutes walking distance to Wallace Monument. (we had nice weather and enjoyed both walks)
Be prepared - touring these places are very pricey- Mostly, we just enjoyed touring the trails along each attraction but did not go inside.
Some local cafes are really nice - also, a great Thai place downtown

The only critiscm was that the shower was unreliable and tempermental-you couldnt control the temperature.

On our arrival we were given a very warm welcome. The accommodation was very comfortable, our room had ensuite facilities, with a small fridge and microwave in our bedroom to use at our leisure. The breakfast on offer was outstanding, we were offered a choice of full continental, or a cooked breakfast, with fresh fruits laid out on a daily basis.
Everyone was made very welcome, the proprieter went out of her way to provide guests with information about the local area and offered advice on where to eat and places to visit.
Location
The location of the guest house is in a very good position being so central to the town of Stirling - it only takes about 5 minutes to walk into town. There is also a very good resteraunt within a short walk of Linden House, which we used during our stay. We had travelled by train to Stirling and hired a car the day after our arrival -it was only a five minutes walk from Linden House to collect the car. However, there is also a very good bus and train service which we could have used. Whilst at Stirling we visited Stirling Castle, Wallaces Monumount and the Falkirk Wheel. We visited St Andrews, where my husband played a round of golf at the famous St Andrews golf course.
