The room was lovely and the facilities were excellent. We had everything we needed in our room to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was again excellent and the owners lovely people. We would recomend the guest house to our friends and will stay there again next time we are in edinburgh.

Location

The location was fab, it was great to be able to just jump on a bus, pay one fee and travel into the city. We used the buses to get to the city zoo. The zoo is an amazing attraction where u can literally spend all day!

The room was lovely and what a great breakfast! Considering the booking was when the Tatoo was on in Edinburgh it was good value for money. The owners John and Jill were very helpful and friendly.

Location

The hotel was a 2 minute walk from a pub which served a large variety of meals and was quite comfortable and affordable. The bus stop into Edinburgh was opposite the public house and a 10 minute drive into the centre............very handy indeed.

Very neat room (though not very english with wooden floor and iron beds), good value for money, excellent breakfast, nice breakfast room, very kind owners of the b&b. The only thing i thought was not so good is the bathroom: old compared to the bedroom, very hard shower.

Location

Well worth to visit for a meal: Melville Inn (5 mins by car from the B&B), quite new restaurant, excellent food for a good price. City Centre of Edinburgh is easy to reach by bus from the B&B in about 20 mins.

It is a quiet well kept place to where I will encourage other family members to try. The overall ambience is one of unobtrusive friendliness, and thats before I had the opportunity to chat to the proprietor. On my initial greeting I was given a key and informed that I could come and go whenever I pleased, just as long as I didnt disturb the other guests which seemed reasonable to me.The room itself was of pleasing dimensions and had a view of the well kept back garden so it was very quiet. The facilities were excellent and all worked well, with helpful complimentary packs of shampoo, shower gel, and even a shower cap! The bed was very comfortable with no lumps or bumps in the mattress, so I was able to fall asleep almost immediately, and wake refreshed, which was very beneficial after 600miles of travel. In the room were the usual complimentary items of tea, coffee, milk substitute and pack of biscuits(shortbread). What was unusual was the bottled water and the way it and the biscuits were replaced daily if used.Nice touch I thought. So in summing up, 100%value for money, great hospitality, very tasty well prepared food, and all the working facilities you might want to access. just like home from home without having the chores!

Location

Edinburgh is a very special place anyway, the guest house is sufficiently close to be a convenient base to work from either walking, by bus, or by car, and yet far enough away to be free from the congestion and noise you would expect from the nations capital. nuff said.

The Laurels Guesthouse offers a very cosy atmosphere, the furniture is very modern and stylish and everything is clean. hospitality is great, the proprietors have always time for conversation, i felt welcome at any time. the value for money is outstanding, i made also other experience in the region. the breakfast is great and everything seems to be done with love. i would recommend this guest house at any time and i´m sure to come back one day. in scotland it is my first choice to stay in.

Location

The Laurels Guest House is easy to reach from Edinburgh centre. there are four bus lines to bring you there. the price for a single ticket (GBP 1,30) as well as a day ticket (3,20) are very fair. The city of Edinburgh offers a lot for visitors, so that i spent there twice as much time as originally planned. from many places you have a great overwiew on the city, my favourite place is calton hill. it´s great, that the national gallery is free of admission. it was definitely worth to visit this beautiful, historic city. will come back for sure.
