The hotel is good, clean and tidy with interesting art and a well informed proprietor for whom guests are no trouble. We found the requirement to eat breakfast in the room not to our liking, and somewhat 'Dickensian'. The poor ladies who had to struggle up stairs each day with heavily laden trays, bang on doors etc. was a shame when there seem to be enough rooms in the hotel to clearly have a breakfast room for guests that would be far more welcoming and friendly, and encourage interaction between people staying at the hotel.
Location
There are some fabulous resturants a short taxi ride away. Two Fat Ladies being one well worth a mention! Prices of some Restaurants was however a surprise - Le Caprice and The Ivy prices for not quite the same level of quality with the exception of the Two Fat Ladies which was worth every penny!
If you can walk up lots of hills there is the botanical gardens nearby and some fo the Charles Renee Mackintosh museums relatively close!

good setting: quiet over-looking private park but near Byers Road & West end for eating etc.
Breakfast in room was a real benefit.

Friendly staff.

room was excellent. value for money good. facilities and breakfast excellent. No email access in our room, but the lounge worked well and there was almost never anyone there.
Excellently located for what I needed in Glasgow.
I hope to come again.
Location
I love the West End and this is a beautiful location especially if you are doing things at Glasgow University, which I was.

The 1902 building was very quaint and tidy. The room was large and the library was a nice touch.
Breakfast was a limited selection, but it was nice that it was delivered on time to our room. The bed was quite old. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo but the glass divider for the shower was poorly designed. All in all the value was good and the location was near the botanical gardens and some great restaurants though a bit far from the downtown attractions.

beautiful large old house but really in need of updating particularly the bathroom we had( it was still 1970s style). owners are lovely though and make you feel most welcome. i guess it would cost a lot of money to revamp beacuse the house is so very very big. good breakfast and plenty around to see and do.

Situated in a very elegant area, a house full of character. Room was very nicely furnished. Bathroom felt a little dated, but was absolutely fine and sparkling clean. The accommodation felt as though you were staying in someone's very comfortable home.
Breakfast, served in the room, was beautifully presented and good, but having it in one's bedroom does put the onus on the guest to remember to phone down to reception to order the day before.
Very pleasant staff and owners, very discrete, but quick to respond and very helpful when contacted.
Location
Very well located for university - the reason for my visit. Lots of nice cafes and restaurants 5 mins away. Easy access to underground.
