I had a very nice room at Johnstone Lodge, warm and tastefully decorated and furnished
All the facilities I needed. Excellent value for money, couldn't have been more
hospitable, and the breakfast was in the marvellous category!
If I return to Stonehaven I will certainly return to Johnstone Lodge.
Location
I was researching my family tree, and as my great grandparents lived in Stonehaven and
my Grandfather was born there, I was able to find all the places where they once lived, took photographs etc, and it all made my visit very special indeed.

Rooms comfortable and attractive. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious; service friendly. Our host suggested a waterfront cafe for supper and called to secure a reservation. Was also helpful with all directions.

The room was beautifully and tastefully decorated, the whole place was very clean and the breakfast was lovely. The couple were friendly and chatty and if you had any queries they were only too happy to help.
Location
We were there to visit family, but stonehaven itself is a lovely place and well worth the visit.

We were very happy with our accommadations. The room was a nice size, clean, and had all the amentities needed. The owners were very nice and helpful. The only suggestion would be to have shades or curtain liners to darken the room at night. The lights from outside came through the curtains thus keeping the room somewhat light all night.
Breakfast was also very good, nice variety - even our child found plenty to eat.
We would stay there again and recommend the Johnston Lodge to others.
Location
Stonehaven was worth the stop for us. I don't think we would stay more than 2 days. The town was quaint with some activities nearby. Finding a place to eat in town was difficult. The number of restaurants was limited; especially if traveling with children and if one did not have reservations. Just arriving in town in the late afternoon did not afford us that opportunity - we ended up eating take-out that night.

Stonehouse is in an expensive area for B & B, so on a "value for money" basis Icannot rate it as outstanding. I stayed in other parts of Scotland where the standard of accommodation was equally good, but cost a lot less!
Location
Nice little town, slightly quirky, but with an "alive" feel, very hospitable people. Stunning coastline
