Very good hospitality and breakfast. Rooms in need of a lick of paint and rather small. My husband found the double bed rather short.

The hostess was lovely and the meal at Breakfast was outstanding, but the house itself is a bit tired. Clean for sure, but needs updating.

The guest house was excellent. We enjoyed our stay a lot! The room was spacious with hight ceiling, private bathroom, tea/coffee facilities and even biscuits. The view was of the inner gardens but it was never noisy. We loved the breakfast as our host - Jasmin - offered to cook whatever we wanted be it an egg or a full Scottish brealfast with haggies. Jasmin was very helpful and easy to communicate. A lovely woman and great host. If we were to go to Edinburgh again, we'd definitely stay at Hanover House Hotel.

Location

The guest house is located very close to the centre, literally next to Calton Hill - the Athens of Edinburgh. We walked to all the sights popping into cafes ans pubs on the way - plenty of them are on the way to the Royal Mile and on it ofc. To reach the meain sight - Edinburgh Castle - we had to walk a bit more than a mile. Quite an enjoyable walk it was.

Excellent location with comfortable room. Breakfast was outstanding and filling.

Location

The Hanover house is within walking distance to the train station and even closer to the bus system that will take you into town. My wife and I walked all through Edinburgh and didn't miss a single site we wanted to see.
