Grasshoppers was very good value for the money. Room was spotlessly clean and very quiet despite being in a very busy part of the city. Very convenient to the train. I felt it was safe (neighbourhood is being gentrified I think so part of it is a little sketchy) as there was a keycode to punch in before getting into the building in off hours. We loved that there was cake and ice cream! We didn't eat at the hotel but there was a fridge where we could put our food that we bought for our very early am departure for the airport. Staff were very friendly. I noticed there was no hairdryer in the room (I had brought my own so not a problem). I would definitely stay there again as it was perfect for our purposes.

Location

We did an Eat/walk Glasgow tour that was so much fun and left from a location very close to the hotel. Also took a tour of the Glasgow necropolis that was very interesting. I also toured the GOMA. I wish we'd had more time to spend in Glasgow - it seems like a fascinating city. We ate at a pub (Hootenanny) that looked a little sketchy but turned out to have great food and good service. Hotel was very convenient to small grocery stores like Sainsbury's and the Coop.

Staff very nice, friendly and helpful, accommodations very comfortable and clean, great location.

Location

We enjoyed visiting the Hunterian Art Gallery, the Burrell Collection, Glasgow cathedral and Provend's Lordship. Was able to get a good American martini at Stravaigin, near the University, and had a very nice dinner at La Parmagiana, which we understand is a longtime favorite in Glasgow.
