NOT ONLY IS THE GLENDALE HOUSE BEAUTIFUL BUT DUNCAN AND ELAINE ARE FABULOUS HOSTS AND TO BE PERFECTLY HONEST I FELT MORE LIKE FAMILY THAN JUST A VISITOR. THE ROOM WE STAYED AT WAS SPACIOUS TO SAY THE LEAST, LOTS OF HOT WATER (WHICH US CANADIANS LIKE)...GOOD BREAKFAST SERVED IN THE MORNINGS TO GET US ON OUR WAY. LOVED EDINBURGH, THE GLENDALE HOUSE AND WOULD DEFINATELY STAY THERE AGAIN.

Location

GREAT LOCATION, A LITTLE HIKE INTO THE CENTER OF EDINBURGH BUT IT WAS GREAT AS THERE WERE MANY THINGS TO SEE ALONG THE WAY.,

Great hosts! Very friendly and always willing to give you good tips. The breakfast was great and you have a big selection to chose from. the room was nice but we were first worried about the shared bathroom but it was no problem at all we didn't even notice that we were sharing it.

Location

We wemt there at Fringe time and it was amazing. The city was crowded but you did never get bored and there were shows everywhere.

Duncan and Elaine are wonderful hosts and the accomodation provided was excellent. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. All in all a very pleasant 3 day stay. Although a little way out of the centre of Edinburgh Glendale house is very accessible by bus and very reasonable fares too. We shall be returning in the not too distant future. Need to see a lot more of Edinburgh.

Location

We visited the Castle, the royal mile and Princess Street, and on the second day visited the Royal Yacht Brittannia. There is so much to see and do that we shall be returning.

Elaine and Duncan are very gracious host. They are friendly, cheerful and helpful. The room was wonderful and spotless with a very comfortable bed. So much to choose from for breakfast. We parked our car in the secure parking for two days and took the bus to Edinburgh which was just around the corner. We would would highly recommend this B & B and if we are ever in Scotland again we will certainly book the Glendale House again.

Location

Edinburgh Castle, the Holyroodhouse, Mary's Close, Market Street, Scott Monument, The Royal Mile. We were only there for two days and it was not enough time to see it all. Next time at least one full week.

Good value, very charming house that was well maintained, wonderful service, and an all-around fantastic weekend. Highly recommended.

Location

Great location only about a 30 minute walk from Downtown Edinburgh. Lots of great shops on the way, including a wonderful deli that my girlfriend and I visited every day. Also, about a 30 minute walk from several impressive nature walks in the hills overlooking Edinburgh. We rang in the New Year on one of them and it was quite a magical experience.

The hospitality was outstanding - the hosts were interested in us and making sure our stay was the best they could make it. The room was great, the breakfast delicious, the environment really attractive and the distance to the heart of the city just right for us to walk. Nothing was a bother - we loved being at Glendale House and came away with new friends and great memories of Scottish hospitality.

Location

From Glendale House we could walk or catch a bus to all the events and faciities we wanted to. We attended the Tattoo which was a lifetime highlight. The Botanical Gardens are amongst the best we have ever seen. Walking in the City was easy and safe - Edinburgh at Festival time is vibrant and an experience not to be missed.
