I was very glad I chose Gladstone for its lovely and well maintained facilities; wonderful English decor in keeping with the era and yet it's not dated but modernized. My bedroom and bathroom are very well kept, very clean and the appliances work beautifully. Tom and Hamish are very warm and hospitable. I would certainly recommend it to everyone.
Location
Gladstone B&B is well served by local buses to the city of edinburgh; or for the energetic, a 15-20min walk into town.

-great value considering it was during the Fringe Festival
-room was fine...nice to have a sink in the room
-bathroom was not ensuite, but private
-very accommodating to our schedule
Location
-we could walk to the Royal Mile within 20-30 min
-buses and cabs are available right outside the door
-parking available, but if spots are taken, there is free parking 1-2 blocks away

We went for the on suite room and it was excellent. The decor was lovely and the facilities were fantastic. Breakfast was brillant and both Tom and Hamish were very friendly.

Lots of history and never a dull moment in Edinburgh. People are very friendly and always willing to help in finding your way around

Welcoming and helpful hosts, comfortable room, exceptional cleanliness and great breakfasts.
Location
We found the free tours of the Scottish Parliament building very interesting. We would also recommend Hanedan Turkish restaurant - good food and friendly service - if you are in the Newington area.

Gourmet Breakfast, very good and big rooms.

Nice trendy restos very close, perfect to gab something to eat on our way to sleep.

Lovely big bright room, well decorated and furnished, clean and comfortable. Breakfast excellent, friendly accommodating service, relaxed atmosphere with hosts there when needed but not intrusive. Good value in an expensive city.
Location
Excellent location to walk or get the bus to city centre, 10 minutes walk to Holyrood Park. Plenty of pubs and restaurants to suit most tastes within 15 minutes walk.
