The room was beautifully clean, the bed linen and general decoration was very nice. However a 4ft 6" bed for two people in my opinion is too small and not what I'd expect in a 4 star Guest House. The owners Bill and Gerry were extremely friendly & helpful with local knowledge and advice, when I mentioned the bed issue they kindly offered us a twin room as an alternative.

We have not been in a better B and B in all of Europe. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and with all the essentials that a traveler needs. The bathroom was super clean! The breakfasts were delicious, great variety of fruit, yogurts, cereals and the menu was fantastic. We had an enjoyable stay thanks to the care and help of the owner Gerry. He was very pleasant and ready to offer a helping had when we needed. Thanks Gerry, you are the best!

Of all the bed and breakfasts we had stayed in, Gildun Guest House is by far the very best!
The room was very nice, comfortable, clean and with all the amenities that we needed. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of it! the best part of our stay and what makes this bed and breakfast top notch is really the owner, Gerard, he was extremely helpful. Always ready to provide assistance and suggestions. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone who is visiting Scotland for the first time! We know you will be happy and go back a second or a third time! we know we are!!!! thanks Gerry for helping us have a wonderful time in Scotland.

Great location, close to the city center. Plenty of transportation around and reasonable prices. The best of the best of the bed and breakfasts in Scotland.

Very nice room, quiet facility, great hospitality, great breakfast with lots of choice, operator very helpful. Within walking distance to Royal Mile, central Edinburgh, Holyrood Palace and Salsbury Craig. Within 2 minutes to a bus stop.
Location
If you like to walk, it's easy to walk to many of the historical attractions within the city. We enjoyed the walk around Salsbury Craig and the historical buildings along the Royal Mile, in particular St. Giles Cathedral and Edinburgh Castle.

Gildun Guest House was well situated for our trip and the facility was clean and comfortable. Room sizes the ensuite and breakfast room were adequate. What will bring me back to Gildun is the quality of the host. Well done!
Location
The Guest House is very accessible for a climb of Arthur's Seat and you can easily walk to the far end of the Royal Mile and Princes Street with good weather. Access to public bus transport is excellent.

Gildun Guest house was a great experience. Our room was very clean,comfortable. The ensuite although small,was clean and met our needs. We had a enjoyable week. Gerry was the perfect host,and the breakfast wow.

Beautifully clean, but small room. The ensuite was particularly small with very little space to put personal items. A towel rail within the ensuite would have been very useful. But the ensuite was sparkling!!
Excellent breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff.
Location
Within easy walking distance of all Edinburgh attractions so our car was parked outside the premises for three days meaning no need to hunt for parking places!

Excellent house and warm welcome by host, lovely newly refurbished rooms, excellent interior design, bathrooms lovely, very clean, excellent breakfast, brilliant location - just perfect!
Location
Excellent - bus stop around the corner, easy access to all tourist attractions in Edinburgh, very easy to get to airport and attractions further outside!
