Our room was really nice and very clean. Our host was really helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was just great. We really enjoyed our stay at Gildun Guest House!!!

We are three adults had a most charming spacious en-suite family room. The location is excellent, calm and yet very close to a bus stop, the bus takes you to the center of Edinburgh within 20 minutes. We were extended a warm welcome arriving around midnight (which we had announced) from the airport. The landlords were extremely friendly, attentive, helped us with everything and had good advice for us, including where to eat in the lovely Thineighbourhood.
The breakfeast was just wonderful, the table was nicely laid out and we could give our breakfeast orders at the breakfeast table.
We thoroughly enjoyed our three-night-stay at the Gil Dun and will recommend it to all our friends.
Location
This is Edinburgh, and we hardly need to explain the amount of things you can see. Historic places are well known and need not be explained, but just one comment: the gentleman at the Edinburgh castle ticket office pointed out to us that Holyrood Palace would be closed the next day due to the visit of the Queen, so if we wanted to see it, we should do it the same day. We were extremely grateful for his advice, otherwise we would have missed the palace. Most friendly, as all Scottish people were that we met.
Restaurants: Tip from the Gil Dun guest house: Hellers kitchen, outstanding. And Fishers of course!

The hosts took terrific care of us, and the breakfast was wonderful. They were very helpful to us. The rooms were very comfortable. The in-room coffee was a great thing before breakfast. All around -- absolutely wonderful!
Location
The weather was great, so we walked to the Royal Mile and attractions every day. The location was perfect for this -- it took about half an hour, but if you are generally active, we definitely recommend this approach rather than the bus! Access to everything was great from this location, and yet it was quiet and restful at night. We would recommend the house to all our friends.

Room was spacious and tastefully decorated with excellent en suite facilities
Friendly welcoming atmosphere and beautifully cooked breakfast. Location close to city centre in quiet cul de sac. I would definitely go back there.
Location
Particularly special was a visit to Rosslyn Chapel. Travelling on local buses was a good way of getting the feel of the city and its people, and very economical with the £3 day ticket.

Very nice accommodations, room very clean and good-sized, excellent breakfast facilities. Owner gave a lot of good advice on how to get around Edinburgh and the location was within walking distance of the Royal Mile, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely stay here again.
