Comfortable room, homely feel. A decent price, and friendly owners. Very large and lovely breakfast with lots of choice.
Location
Easy walk into the centre of Edinburgh, but definitely a 1/2 hour to Princes Street. Ideal for parents of 1st year university students as the Pollock Halls are very near by.

The time spent at Gifford House was great, we got amazing service and
they really went the extra mile to make our stay wonderful.
We were going on tour and they kept our bags until we got back,
and then even helped out with a scale to weigh them before leaving for
the airport. When we decided to have a evening at home we could
choose from a large variety of dvd's. Not forgetting to scrumptious breakfast
that is served every morning.

Yes, we visited Duddingston Village which was a lovely surprise---a bonus! We found Bonnie Prince
Chrlie,s battle campaign house and the oldest coaching house in Edinburgh--"The Sheep Heid."
