Nice room, small bathroom but everything you need is in there! :-) Wonderful breakfast!

Bus stop to Edinburgh city directly in front of the house - excellent, so you can leave the car at the guesthouse.

The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Our host Ann was very friendly and informative.
Location
We had a car, so we drove into the city - parking was pretty easy and we visited the castle and the Royal Mile.

Although the proprietor Mrs. O'Connor was quite friendly and the breakfast was good, we found the room needed a more thorough cleaning (especially the bathroom). Certain items that one would normally expect in a B and B (e.g. Kleenex in the room, a toilet roll holder) were missing. I understand that it was high season but we didn't feel we got good value for money.
Location
It was easy to get into Edinburgh because a bus stop was directly opposite. It was only a 20 minute ride into the city centre, yet it was easy to get out of town again to the ring road.

My stay at the Emerald was excellent , I was made to feel so welcome, the standard of my room was way above what I expected ,for the price I payed. and as for my breakast I could not believe the choice , which was cooked to perfection ,My reason for staying at the Emerald was I needed somewhere near the Royal Infirmary , the location was excellent as the bus stop was right outside the guest house overall I could not fault my stay at the Emerald

a WARM WELCOME AWAITED THE THREE OF WE HAD TWO ROOMS WHICH WE WERE DELIGHTED WITH SPOTLESSLY CLEAN AND WARM.tHE BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING JUST ABOUT ANYTHING YOU COULD WISH FOR.hOSPITALITY GREAT aNN EVEN FOUND ME A BROLLY TO BORROW AS IT WAS RAINING.I would recommend staying here to friends and family.
