We had a hiccup to start off with as no-one was there when we arrived at 1.30 p.m! Our confirmation e-mail said we would be arriving around 2 p.m. but after a quick phone call, Linda arrived just before 2 p.m. She apologise profusely and from them on, all was excellent. Our superior twin room was exactly that and the en-suite was outstanding. The breakfasts were terrific and we were only sorry we didn't have a longer stay. Would recommend Douglas House to anyone and everyone.
Location
We were in Castle Douglas for special 70th birthday party weekend so we did not do any sight-seeing except for Sunday morning when we went to Sandyhills. Very nice indeed and the weather was kind to us.

The bedroom that we stayed in was of a very high standard, on a par with that of the very best 5* hotel. Hospitality and facilities were excellent and the breakfast could not have been bettered. Would not have any hesitation in staying at Douglas House if in that area some time in the future. I would certainly recommend Douglas House to any of my family or friends.

Room clean tidy comfortable. great choices for breakfast,Host very friendly and helpful.

Drive around Loch Ken. Watching Red Kites being fed was realy good. Lots of places to eat nearby good value for money

Rooms immaculate and well laid out, bathroom beautifully finished service excellent, breakfast second to none!A good quality B&B
