Much nicer than other similarly rated places, with a friendly landlord and great location. Everything was great except the weather and they tried to make that better as well.

We were impressed with the overall cleanliness, beautiful room and surroundings, excellent breakfasts and courteous and friendly hospitality from the owners. The B & B was situated in an excellent location, short stroll to the beach, shops transport and restaurants easily accessible. Have recommended it to friends and would definitely visit there again.
Only one suggestion to make, a sitting room would have been lovely to be able to sit in during the day while waiting for room to be made up, or to have a cup of tea with friends coming to pick us up..
Location
The Daviot had a good selection of pamphlets available to visitors showing various attractions that would be of interest. The even supplied umbrellas on loan for those days that weren't sunny. Well done Daviot!

The room which I was given was beautifully furnished and the decor bright and obviously recently completed. There were extras such as liquid hand soaps (Arran Aromatics)and cotton wool balls, as well as shower gel in the shower. The choice at breakfast was wide and varied with something for every taste, including a full Scottish breakfast and after ordering the food was served immediately. Linda and Silvio were most welcoming and helpful and I am sure that all their customers must be as satisfied as I was and will recommend the guest house to their families and friends.
Location
My visit was specifically to celebrate a 90th birthday on the Waverley which sails out of Ayr daily in the summer. I also took the oppportunity to walk along the esplanade with its beautiful views and sandy beach. Ayr itself is a good place to go shopping or find one of the many cafes to have a coffee. There are lots of places to have a meal and I enjoyed the food in a Weatherspoon's, which was a converted church, and another in a small Italian restaurant nearby. I did not use it myself, but there is a golf course which is clearly seen from the railway on the way to the airport at Prestwick. There is also racing at Ayr.
