Warm welcome, helpful landlady, good-sized room with a spacious private bathroom next door, nice breakfasts - at over £30 pp. pn. perhaps a bit pricey.

Location

Arran is a truly beautiful island. We had never been before, but it lived up to expectations. Being able to use the buses to make possible complicated walks in the mountains was a great advantage. Starting a walk in one place and ending it in another, returning to base by bus, is something which is rarely possible in the Highlands and Islands. Is Arran the Scottish Switzerland - where provision for tourists of this kind is common?

Location

A good position for our outward journey to Oban & the Isles. A pity that we hadn't time to stay longer.

Ein sehr freundlicher Empfang von Diane, sauberes, stilvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer, bequeme Betten; wunderbare Aussicht auf das Meer, ausgezeichnetes, vielseitiges Fruehstueck! Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und koennen es jederzeit weiter empfehlen.

Location

Sehr gutes Essen im "Lighthouse", fast nebenan. Direkt am Meer. Besonders zu empfehlen ist die Lammschulter - aber auch alles Andere! (Chef kocht selbst) Eigene alkoholische Getraenke koennen (muessen) mitgebracht werden. Zivile Preise! Nachteil: Leider nur bis 21 Uhr geoeffnet.

We were made to feel most welcome and given freedom to come and go as we needed. We were comfortable and very happy to pay what we did as the facilities, food and setting were excellent.

Location

Being in a more remote spot on Arran was exactly what we wanted and needed. We found that several businesses had closed down since our last visit to the island but there was enough for us to see and do, although we were surprised to find Brodick Castle closed for several days during the week.
