The room was very nice, extremely clean, with a beutiful view on the Arthur's Seat. The bus stop is 20 metres far from the Guest House, so that you can easily drive to the city centre in every moment of the day and of the evening. The value for money is excellent. Very rich breakfast, lovely hospitality.

Location

Everything in the Old and New Town is worth visiting, and the Highlands and Borders too.

My second stay at Clan Walker's Guest House A lovely old house with a spacious quiet bedroom overlooking the garden, all so clean, tidy and decorated with taste. Modern facilities : TV, DVD and CD player, clock with alarm-clock in the room. Wonderful hospitality : John and Lucy made me feel quite at home. I enjoyed the delicious British breakfast, cooked to my taste (I loved the fresh mushrooms), and chatting with my hosts, who definitely mad me feel welcome. The place is within easy reach of the main places to visit ; many buses... It was good value. I definitely mean to come again as soon as I can...

Edinburgh is very special to me as I spent a whole year there as a student a long time ago... The city is still the same but it has also improved : more museums and activities. I went to the brand new brass-rubbing centre and felt confident enough to try and do some brass-rubbing myself. The staff was very helpful and encouraging. They took the time to show me how to proceed. I was also happy to discover the Surgeons' Hall Museum with its most interesting exhibition about Conan Doyle and Joseph Bell, the "real" Sherlock Holmes... What else I could see of the museum was interesting. However, I wish they would have allowed photos or would have had a guidebook to the museum, though. I went to Mary King's Close, too. I enjoyed the tour very much : discovering Edinburgh as it was three centuries ago was, of course, fascinating. There would be much more to say, about the atmosphere in Edinburgh, which makes the town so special... I also enjoyed a day out to North Berwick and the seabird protection centre. It is within easy reach (30 minutes by train) and I was so astonished to be able to do some bird-watchingfrom the centre and learn so much about wildlife in Scotland...
