In the Middle of everything in Edinburgh. The apartment was clean and tidy and well presented. Everything is at your finger tips.

This apartment is very well maintained, the owners monitor your arrival (bear in mind that this housing complex is old, was erected for needs far different from today´s). Spotlessly clean and with all needed amneties. Ingredients for your first breakfast thoughtfully provided. Certainly good value for the price asked. One drawback only is the proximity of the entrance to the rear end of the famous pub, Deacon Brodie.
Location
An apartment at the top of the Royal Mile is, of course, in the middle of numerous historic attractions. Looking out of the west window, your neighbours are the Writers Museum, The Gladstone House and The Lady Chairs entrance. On the small square, tourist guides and actors show the buildings and tell of their history and schoolchildren in medieval clothes are informed of The Writers Museum and of Gladstone House prior to entering. There´s the Castle, too. A week may give you chance to see many marvelous sight, certainly not all. One caution, this location is close to the Castle and the Castle is on an hilltop. But there are many watering holes about.

We loved the apartment and wished we could have stayed longer. As we stayed at the end of November, with it being a very cold season, we were very pleased with the fact that the apartment was very warm and cosy, loved the double en-suite room especially, very comfortable and clean. Also it was good that tea and coffee was provided aswell as cereals.

A 10 minute walk to the centre (Royal Mile), we visited the castle which has amazing views and we visited the whisky experience shop which has a ride inside, fascinating little shop. We loved Edinburgh and would definitely return again in the future. It has a magical feel to it, especially at Christmas, we went round the German Christmas markets and round the fair which has a big ferris wheel, helter skelter and ice rink, really impressive!

Actually to us it was outstanding, because it was everything we wanted. The flat was well laid out and extremely comfortable. I rated Castle Walk excellent because some folks might not want to climb the stairs, or might expect services that would not be included in self-catering. We totally loved it, and Jayne and Tony were very helpful. I would definitely stay there again, and hope to. Loved the view out the kitchen window!
Location
Loved the area and how close we were to everything in the Old Town. Great pub up the street and to the left of the big restaurant that was a church once. Writers' Museum right across the close should not be missed--it's free, but donate--it's worth it. Can walk to Waverly Station, although it's uphill all the way. Going back down was a breeze. You don't want or need a car here.
