The family room was based on the ground floor, warm and comfortable. We were made very welcome from our arrival to our departure. The food was freshly made and we had a choice of cooked breakfast/cereal/toast/various spreads, or all of these. The shower room(thermastatic shower with well regulated water) and room were very clean and tea/coffee etc were topped up each day. Would recommend this guest house, and would certainly stay again - when there is availabilty! We believe that it is fairly well booked up from now up until September?
Location
The Castle Park Guest house is approx 1.5 miles out of the centre of Edinburgh, the walk is doable, with the aid of a street map we gained from the tourist information office. However, we were informed by the owner that there is a regular bus route which stops not far from the guest house. Infact, the bus stop into the city centre is directly opposite, and return stop is approx 10m away. It is £11 for a family all day ticket, which can be used to go anywhere on the buses of the same company. The teenage boys really enjoyed The Dungeons. We walked through Princes Gardens, which, although is very close to the high street, you don't really hear the traffic etc! Plenty of eating places, however, we did find it difficult to find a pub that would allow our teenage boys in to either have a drink or eat? We went to the Standing Order(a Whetherspoons),but were told that we could not sit in the booths in the main area? We did not see any signage to suggest that we had to sit in the allocated 'family areas'? This was mentioned to the staff. Otherwise, a very good weekend had by all!

The B&B is a bit worn down, but all and all kept in a good condition. Breakfast area is a bit cramped, but in compensation the reception and service is very hospitable. The big plus is the location: walking distance from the very center of town.

Our room was very nice and clean and the hosts were all very helpfull und friendly. What we didn't like, is that we had to wait 20 minutes outside before somebody came and let us in.
Breakfast was absolutely lovely, but unfortunately very early for us (between 8 and 9), which is why we couldn't make it in time every day.
Location
Edinburgh is amazing. Very worth visiting is the "City of the Dead"-Tour!

The accomodation was very clean and warm. The sheets were beautiful crisp cotton which was a luxury. The food was a very good standard. It was lovely to have en-suite facilities. The staff were efficient and friendly. The Owner was also very approachable and friendly in manner, and helpful when asked for directions locally. I was pleasantly surprised to have been placed into a very nice double room when I had booked a single. This was supposed to be temporary as someone had decided to stay an extra night, however the Owner was extremely kind in letting me stay in that room for the duration of my 3 night stay which was very much appreciated.
Location
I was at an excellant Christian Ladies Conference so didn't have time to be a tourist on this occaision.

Clean and friendly, but could use a fresh coat of paint here and there.
Location
Great location. Shops, restaurants and culture (cinema, theatre: Cameo, Odeln, Filmhouse, Usher Hall) nearby.
