One of the best cottages I have stayed in in twenty years, well equipped, warm, fantastic views. Lovely setting, didn't want to leave
Location
Highland Wildlife park at Kincraig is very good, don't forget to see the "clootie well" between tore and munlochy. Black isle brewery and cycling along the canal. The swimming pool and plaupark are excellant aswell.

As a group of six travelling the UK, we have marked Canalside Cottage as the best self catering accomodation we had experienced. The attention to detail was excellent, the rooms were of a high standard as were the bathroom and kitchen facilities.
The location was also beautiful, being quiet and picturesque right at the end of the Caledonian Canal at Inverness. We were a long way from home but it felt just like home, a great place to relax and unwind after a hard day touring; I would recommend Canalside Cottage to anyone contemplating visiting Inverness

Inverness has all you could ask for, great location, lots of attractions and Lochs to explore, and short drives to some great scenic locations

The cottage is in a nice location, with an enclosed outdoor space, adjacent walks and internal hard flooring, making it ideal for dog owners. The cottage has been recently developed to a high spec, and tea and coffee making facilities were provided, together with cleaning products and products for the washing machine and dishwasher. The bedding provided was not quite warm enough, so I had to use an extra quilt from another bed. The mattress could have been more comfortable. These are minor quibbles, however, and I would have no hesitation in returning for another visit or in recommending the cottage to friends. We enjoyed our stay and thought the cottage was good value for money.
Location
Inverness is a favourite destination of ours, and this side of the city is very pleasant, at the edge of the Craig Phadraig forest where wild deer can often be seen, and at the side of the canal, at the beginning of the Great Glen Way. It is pleasant to sit in the sunny conservatory and watch the boats go by only a few metres from the cottage. The surrounding hills, which were covered in snow during our visit, are very lovely.Inverness's riverside restaurant quarter is excellent and a walk along the Ness islands, or a visit to Eden Court or the Botanic Gardens are all recommended. For lovers of the textile arts, Pat-Chis, in nearby Inchmore, is well worth a visit. A tiny little shop by the roadside is packed with fabrics, craft supplies and books for the quilter and dressmaker and classes are held in the village hall across the road. The village of Beuly is only a few miles further on, with individual shops like Maggie Blyth's and delicatesans.
