The hospitality was great felt really at home. Young couple who are running it will help in anyway can. Continental breakfast great helped yourself which was nice to do for change. Room clean and tidy. Would go back and highly recommend cameron guest house

Location

Oben as a whole is great owners knowledge of town and area invaluable. Fish and chips at the wharf best ever but have to be early as busy. Worth going to monument up hill great views.Period shop fronts with interesting merchandise.

The standard of the room was a bit poor, it had no wardrobe because it was too small, but a rack for the suitcase or a chair would have been useful. Since Eilidh and her husband bought the house only recently, she seemed still very unexperienced in dealing with customers. It was a bit chaotic, but she was very eager to please and be helpful. That made the stay pleasently. The room was worth the money, cheap by Oban standard in the season and clean. For breakfast you had self-service in the kitchen, continental breakfast, Looking always forward to a fondly cooked Scottish breakfast in Scotland, I was a bit disappointed. The bathroom -old, but clean- was not en-suite and shared with the people of two other rooms.

Location

Oban in the main season is a harbour city, brimming with people, full of life. Seafood is available at every corner, never fresher than at the little stall directly in front of the harbour. Delicious! And never to forget the little pink Italian ice-cream shop in the harbour. I had never before in Scotland ice-cream I liked so much. Attraction number one of course is MacCaigs tower. Sunshine provided you can spend a lovely time there high above the city with a stunning view. The Oban destillery is very disappointing, no tours, they only want to sell their stuff in the visitor center. Boring! Best of all are the boat tours, especially to Staffa, Iona and Mull. Even in bad weather, as I had, an adventure to remember.......As St. Columa said: If you've been on Iona, you will come back. You always come to Iona for three times. ....Well then, I'm looking forward to the next time.
