Very comfortable room, all amenities needed (TV, coffee/tea making station, toiletries (no hairdryer). Great home cooked breakfast each morning. The owner Andrea is wonderful, she let us drop our bags off really early since we took the early flight in from Glasgow. She was great to have a quick chat with over breakfast each morning. And; she was going to give us money for the amount we were short for our taxi back to airport our last day! Who is this nice? Andrea is! We were unaware of the lack of Cash Machines on Islay & found ourselves short about 5 quid. We were able to have one of the restaurants give us cash back from our dinner bill, so we ended up being fine, but Andrea literally walked up to us in the morning with 5 quid in her hand ready to help us out....very kind indeed!
Location
Great location for restaurants, general store and small shops, all within 5 minute radius. Ardbeg & Laphroig distilleries are within 40 minute walk (Ardbeg being the furthest). And the walk is breathtaking! If you don't want to walk, they do have buses and obviously taxis. The Islay Hotel was where we ate for dinner both nights and their food is amazing!

Very friendly and helpful lady. Room clean and breakfast wonderful. Everything we could want.
Location
We loved Islay. Everyone was very helpful, at distilleries, shops and pubs for meals. In particular we found the young lady at the museum at Port Charlotte very helpful in our search for wartime RAF information. My father was stationed on Islay durng WW2

Nous avons été très bien accueillis, notre hôtesse a été absolument adorable. Elle nous a même permis de manger un plateau de fruits de mer d'une fraicheur incomparable!!! Les chambres étaient très propres, le site très calme malgré le réaménagement du port.

La guesthouse est bien située, près des distilleries, des sites historiques, de petites criques d'où l'on peut observer les phoques.

I stayed in Cala Sith Guest House with my brother for three nights for some sight-seeing on Islay, we visited most of the distilleries. Some of the main ones can even be reached from the guest house by walking, which has its advantages when doing a full whisky-tasting! Andrea, the landlady, did a great job booking all the tours for us, it's been very convenient to do it all in advance by e-mail. Breakfast was tremendous (full Scottish breakfast available!), absolutely everyone's been helpful, fun and friendly: landlady, staff, and fellow guests. Nice view from the house! Facilities and room were kept spotlessly clean all the time. Andrea even found us a really nice place to stay at really short notice for our onward journey through the Scottish mainland... can't beat local knowledge!
We'll definitely pick this guest house again on our next trip to Islay!
