Having been visiting Edinburgh for a number of years using budget hotels which in fact cost more than Broughton house, we were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of accommodation & the breakfast which surpassed any we have previously had in Auld Reekie. The greeting we received made the break worthwhile.
Location
We visited the Refurbished Museum in Chambers Street which is well worth seeing.

This little B and B is great value for money - Room was clean and comfortable- little on the small size but we didn't mind this. Location great to get to the center of town. Hotel owners very friendly - exactly what you want from a little B and B. Breakfast was amazing - set you up for the day ahead.......which always involved alot of walking if you are sight seeing!!
Location
Ghost Tour- little scary but worth it. we went on the 10pm tour

The Real Mary King's Close- is a must to see what the real Edinburgh was before we built on top of it! The passageway is small for this place but ask around- we missed it first time round! Our tour guide Keith was great and was really informative- bought it all to life........I would advise booking as they can only take 20 per visit- we had to come back the next day because they were fully booked!

We had a great weekend at the guest house, the breakfast was very filling and well cooked.
The house is situated close enough to the town yet in a quiet side road away from the noise.
Location
We booked the trip for the Edinburgh tattoo and it was within easy walking distance. Also it was a short distance from Holyrood house. and the Royal mile.
