Very friendly welcome, effective service in that help was there when you needed it but we were not pestered either. A nice balance. Lovely looking house too, very traditional and made our stay most enjoyable and comfortable.

The room and beds were clean and comfortable. The shower room fittings were clean and the shower was good - good water pressure and temperature. The host, Jim, is lovely. He was friendly, helpful and humorous. The cooked breakfast there was much better than the one at the grand hotel at which we stayed on the way home. It isn't perfect but there is nothing really bad about it and Jim makes up for the minor faults.

Location

The bus stop immediately outside is very useful and there was no problem with noise. The bus service takes you into the city centre or you can get off nearer to Leith docks and walk five minutes to Leith which has lots of lovely eating places (we would recommend Daniel's.

This B&B was a great choice. Nice environment, clean and quiet accommodation, excellent breakfast and helpful staff made our stay very pleasant. It is in fact a bit far from the city centre, but it is not a problem as bus services connect the neighbourhood to the centre very easily - one line stops exactly in front of the B&B. And it guarantees the quietness to sleep, which is really great after a day of walking and sightseeing. We think it was a very good value for money and definitely recommend the B&B.
