Had booked a room with four beds. The room we got had three beds and a camper bed. Nonetheless full price was charged. Very noisy.Just a trickle of water in shower, rinsing long hair took an age! We needed a place with parking and that is really the only positive feature of this B&B.

Location

Edinburgh is a beautiful city with wonderful architecture and buzz. The castle and Mary Kings Close are well worth visiting.

We only got 2 cups for coffee/thee although we had reserved a triple room. The third person also did not get a fresh towel. This explains excellent instead of outstanding. For the rest, everything was excellent, in particular the breakfast and the service during breakfast by a very friendly Polish lady.

I would have preferred 3 single beds instead of a double a single and a fold up. Everything else was good.

Location

Edinburgh has some beautiful buildings.

The beds could have been more soft - not so hard surface. The room was OK, and we was very happy with the space for car parking. Food was quite good.

Location

It was easy to visit town centre from the B&B. May be 20 min walking time to enter the old city. A lot of places to see - sorry we had just 2 nights there.

I would have given Ashgrove "outstanding" except that our room had an extremely small bathroom including a very small shower. The room was spacious though and we appreciated the WIFI. We were up 2 flights of stairs - the last set being quite narrow - so older folk would need to be accommodated on the next floor down. The breakfast was delicious and there was a lovely guests sitting room though we didn't havetime to make use of it. Good off street parking available and on a good bus route.

We were welcomed in a very friendly way and our heavy luggage was carried up the narrow stairs. The breakfast was very good and the staff kind. The room was pretty high up and a bit hot but it helped to keep a window open. The view was pleasant. The toilet and shower didnīt always work well, but it didnīt really matter. We didnīt have any shower gel and we got shampoo on the last night, but that didnīt bother us either. All in all, we were quite satisfied and wouldnīt hesitate to visit Ashgrove House again someday.

Location

The situation was very good; close to Haymarket Station and the city centre. We could also catch the airport bus at the stop almost in front of the building. We enjoyed walking round the city: Arthurīs seat, the Botanic Garden, Leith and the Leith walk. Edinburgh is a beautiful city but unfortunately we had only three days so weīll have to come again to see all the castles, palaces and museums which we only saw from the outside, as we wanted to walk around.
