Rooms were good, quiet and spacy, quite new furniture and bathroom - we had rooms to the garden side. Breakfast was OK, a bit unorganized serving. The landlady seems a bit "outdated", but Katrina, her help, was up to date with information. NOTE: There is no parking whatsoever nearby, only one garage with 2 space, otherwise residents parking only. So either plan ahead or void a car. However, it is only 10 minutes walk to grassmarket.

Location

Avoid the Indian on the same side of street. The pub on the main street, right hand across the street is nice, and for food we recommend Hardy's, a pub-restaurant, a bit further up the main street, also right hand and opposite side, when walking from the B&B. Both within 3 minutes walk.

The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast choices are very large and good. The staff was very welcoming, so we felt good there. Moreover, it is very easy to go to city centre from there.

Location

The real Mary King's close, several "Ghost Tours" ... Edinburgh is the city of witcheries, murderers and other scary stories ! If you are hungry, just stop at A Taste of Scotland or Just Burgers and Beers (apparently, you must book in advance to have dinner there). Both those places are good and rather cheap. Edinburgh in August is the best place to be for there are so many festivals and shows.
