We were welcomed into Joan's home as if we were family. We arrived early from the US, tired and bedraggled. She showed us to our beautiful and clean room and gave us hot water bottles as we napped for a few hours. The breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. We were on the main road, so access to all routes and the city center were easy. This was our first trip to Scotland and Joan was so helpful with directions and suggestions. We would highly recommend Argyll House and Scotland!!
Location
Argyll House is located just on the outskirts of Stirling between the city centre and Bridge of Allen. As the city is central in the country it is very easy to travel to all points of interest, i.e. Edinburgh, St. Andrews, the Highlands, etc. Stirling itself is a beautiful city with 2 major points of interest the Wallace Monument and Stirling Castle, one on either side of the valley and well worth visiting. The restaurants are plentiful and delicious.

We really enjoyed our stay at Argyll House. The room we had was of a good size, very clean, nicely furnished, quiet and had a nice view of the garden in the back. It also has a modern bathroom. There was a wide range of things to choose from for breakfast, including traditional scottish food including black pudding and haggis if you want them. The hostess, Joan, was helpful and accommodating to our needs. We would recommend this place to any of our friends visiting Stirling.
