Inveraray Castle is worth a visit! Lovely gardens. Lots of interesting things to see inside the castle.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Argyll Hotel, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. As a qualified 'Mystery Shopper' There were a couple of points I would like to make though. The Residents Bar was closed on the night we asked for drinks, we were told they were short staffed? The beds in the room were a bit uncumfortable, as they were a bit too hard for us. Magnificent Hotel, very well situated, just needs a little bit more attention to detail.

We throughly enjoyed our stay in Inverrary, it is a wonderful little place. Inverrary Castle is well worth a vist. We also visited Oban via Loch Awe. We had wonderful weather, which really does make all the difference. The whole experience (Hotel included) gets a 8/10 from us.

The room was very nice and well appointed with anice view over the loch, so happy on that score.The breakfast was average and pretty much the standard buffet fare but the absence of alternatives such as porridge, kippers or even smoked haddock given the location of the hotel (only 2/3 miles from a world famous fish smokehouse)and the fact that these are scottish breakfasts was particularly dissapointing.

we enjoyed our stay, the room was clean, the staff friendly and helpful. The breakfast was well presented with a good variety.

Location

We arrived late afternoon, so only managed to visit the castle, but there appeared to be a few things we would have enjoyed looking at if we had more time. The castle visit I think was a little expensive for what you got, but the guides were very informative and pleasant.
