The long walk up the hill from the bus station, toting our suitcase, was worth the effort. Liz Duncan's home is beautiful, and she and Hamish, her dog, were delightful hosts. The beautiful antiques were comfortable, too. Breakfast was hearty and delicious.

Location

We stayed only one night, but we won't forget the beauty of the countryside.

A lovely welcome, a spacious, airy, clean room and bathroom. The breakfast was fine, with a good choice, but just misses out on the "outstanding" as the porridge was reminiscent of Ready Brek(!) Certainly to be recommended, though.

Location

The boat trip on the loch was well worth it, despite the rain and it was very kind of the two crew to take us even though numbers were very low that particular morning. The trip to Nevis Range (20mins on the bus) and up the mountain by gondola (ie a cable car thingy, not a venetian boat) was certainly a highlight.

Large room with excellent panoramic view of the lake. Spacious room and all home comforts. Breakfast was excellent couldn't ask for more.

Location

Fort William is handily located for Ben Nevis and the steam train to Mallag ( which is excellent by the way ) but the town itself is very plain with very few decent restaurants. The B and B was right on top of a steep hill so worth bearing in mind.

Good sized rooms and ensuite with a good standard of decor and services. Excellent breakfast and the owner was very helpful especially with regard to dinner reservations. The garden was nicely set up for sitting out whilst there was also a lounge within the house should it be required. The house is on the hillside which some less able people might wish to be aware of.

Location

The reason for the trip was for the steam train run to Malliag, which was very good.

Very good room with a large bathroom. Visitors should be aware there are a lot of steps between the town & this property. May not be suitable for all.

Location

I visited to walk Ben Nevis. Hard work, but worth it.
