The Anchorage was good to stay for a short 2 night break, the staff were pleasant and welcoming, breakfast excellent. We were visiting friends that live in Troon and on our last night we dined at the Anchorge for our evening meal, that was absolutley beautiful, well worth the money even our friends who live there commented that they would be back. Unfortunatley the only downside,I had booked a double room, but we ended up with a small room with two single beds, the decor could do with a refurb/updating and more lighting as the room only had a tiny window to the side and was quite dark,a few things could do with repairing, showerhead held with a elastic band, and toilet seat loose.{ the bathroom was clean}We would have asked to change rooms but it was just a base for us,to change and shower. The rooms were cleaned daily and fresh towels if you need them. We are planning another trip back to Troon and 'Yes'we would stay here again, but I'd make sure they know what we require in future.

Location

Hotel is over looking the sea/Isle of Arran, which we visited on the ferry from Ardrossan a (10 min drive)The town is just a small walk down the street and the golf course for those who play, round the corner.Plenty of shops cafes etc. We also went to the electric Brae which is a must.

Staff very helpfull, room was fine, it did require some work - ceiling in poor condition, and bath plug could not be removed. But lovely location close to ferry port, would stay again as good value for money. Food in pub was lovely and breakfast was also very good.

Location

We were not using local atraction as stop over before getting ferry to Belfast so no comment can be made.

Very convenient to the ferry. Quite hospitable. Rooms were large and lovely. A "little snack" was a tasty dinner. Very helpful start to finish. I do hope to return soon

Colin is now out of the country. However, I did ask him how his stay at the Anchorage was and he did enjoy his stay. I will, therefore, consider utilising your hotel for our company, in the future. Kind regards, Therese Therese Elliott

The cuisine was excellent -- way above what I would have expected from "pub food" which is how it was described by a local. The service was also excellent -- keen and obliging. The room was acceptable, but things like window-size and TV reception were not great. (TV reception in the public areas was fine.) We would go back again.
