The Anam Cara Bed and Breakfast met our every expectation. The building is quaint with antique furnishings and a warm atmosphere. Our hostess, Margaret, welcomed us warmly and shared a bit about the city, Bridge of Allan, and where to catch the train and bus, find the post office, restaurants, and shops. She made us feel like part of the family, was wonderfully accommodating, personable, and interesting and fun to talk with. I especially liked the large dining room table that we shared with other guests. The table was set beautifully and a delicious Scottish breakfast with all the fixings was provided. Margaret made our stay memorable, exciting, and wonderfully pleasant. We would not hesitate to stay with Margaret at Anam Cara again and will recommend it to anyone going to that part of Scotland.
Location
The city, Bridge of Allan, is within a mile of the University of Stirling’s beautiful campus where my daughter was a summer student. We walked the mile everyday from Anam Cara Bed & Breakfast, for exercise and to enjoy the rich landscapes, to the University bus stop for transportation to the city of Stirling. From the bus stop, we were able to walk to the historic Stirling Castle (definitely worth visiting), shops, a mall, and restaurants. From the University, we were able to walk a mile+ to the historic Wallace Monument (Braveheart) on a trail through a beautiful wooded area. The landscape is breathtaking in and around both cities.

the standard was first class - very surprised at how lovely the room and the whole house was - the Landlady was like a member of my own family inviting me on a special holiday - so warm and inviting - she trusted me with her whole home and made my stay lovely
Location
the warm welcome - local knowledge passed on to me and the comfort I found myself in The breakfast could not have been better in a London top class hotel and I was offered food through out the day at no charge?? - excellent service from the Landlady and her husband was very nice and friendly

Immediately we felt at home in the house and
with the very nice couple in Anam Cara B&B
if we go back to Scotland we know where to go!
Location
For us it was a really good choice to stay the
first and the last night in Scotland because
the Airport in Edinburgh is so close.
